New rules for West Dapto's growth

Council is being asked to put new planning rules for West Dapto on public display for 28 days. The draft chapter, known as D16, sets out how houses are built, where schools go, and how to protect creeks and parks as the area grows. It confirms a new school site on Shone Ave, Huntley, and adds updated flood and creek mapping based on 2025 data.

Staff recommend council approve the exhibition so landowners and the community can have their say. The rules were last reviewed in 2021. Anyone living in Huntley, Marshall Mount or West Dapto will feel the effect, since these rules decide street layout, shop locations and how nearby bushland is protected.
